Crib mattress

How do I find out the dimensions of the crib mattress I need without physically having the crib yet? We have ordered the crib and I was going to get the mattress but I can only find the overall crib dimensions, none for the base that holds the mattress. TIA

Most cribs (of course mini, round, etc are exceptions) and mattresses are all standard, so it shouldn't really matter.

I assumed they were all standard unless otherwise stated.  I ordered ours from babycatalog.com and it fits perfectly in out jcp crib.

I didn't know crib mattresses came in different sizes!  I'm no help.

most say something like "fits standard size mattresses." unless you ordered an unusual crib, there's really only one size to order.

Yeah, like pp's have said, they are all within an inch of 28x52.

They're standard sizes, but there are variations. Just order it and make sure the place you get it from allows returns if it doesn't fit.

We got a Sealy at first, and it left big gaps on the side of our Million Dollar Baby crib. We later got an L.A. Baby Organic Cotton mattress and it was perfectly snug. 

So while they're standard, there are variations.
