where did you buy the probiotics?  any specific brand you recommend?  can you give too much of this or are multiple doses safe?  I went out and got Nora some yogurt with live cultures in it last night and am going to give it to her every day.  I also pretty much eat yogurt every day, but I might take some more myself or add some to Nora's breakfast.  Thanks!

I get Eli Culturelle Probiotics for Kids.  They sell them at Walgreens.  It comes in single serve packets, and he gets one in his juice every day.  It has really helped with his diarrhea.  He also gets yogurt alot too, I don't think you really have to worry about giving them too much, within reason obviously.

  • You can get them just about anywhere.  I got ours at Whole Foods -- tablets for me, powder for Kira (but she was only a month old at the time).  Since you're in GSO, Earth Fare would be a good stop; they have a great health section.  Also, Vitamin Shoppe has a good selection; I haven't bought them there but I'm positive they'd have good probiotics.  I don't think you can have too much, but I'd spread it over the day.  I can see why you'd want to start with more than one dose, but after a couple weeks one dose is probably OK.  All yogurt is good -- they don't have to say it has "live cultures" because it all does.  Just keep yogurt or probiotics refrigerated at ALL times!  I'd even ask at the store if there's ever been a time it's not been refrigerated as that would kill the happy and healthy little bacteria in there.  One day not refrigerated in transport might be the best you can do, but ideally it'd never be out of refrigeration.  I get ones that have multiple types of bacteria, acidophilus and others, but I don't think it really matters.  GOOD LUCK!!! :)
