2nd Trimester

White haired momma? Seriously!?!?

I'm not even 30 but recently wirey white hairs are popping up on my head.  I'm mortified and spending 20 minutes every night in front of a mirror frantically searching to remove the little nasties before someone notices them.  PLEASE tell me this is related to pregnancy hormones.  PLEASE???  Seriously, I had to wait until I was 18 for puberty so one would think old age symptoms would shine off a little longer than this!

Re: White haired momma? Seriously!?!?

  • I am 29 and a half and I started noticing those white hairs in my bangs and around my face about a year ago.  In my case it has nothing to do with pregnancy.  I only have a few though.  The rough texture of them bothers me more than anything.  I tend to pull them out.

  • I have all mine in a circle at the top of my head right about where bangs would start. I started doing highlights and my lady makes sure to get as much as she can into "golden blond" and the other whites blend a little better.

  • They started showing up in my hair when I was 27. ( I am now 29)  And I have dark hair plus they are a totally different texture then the rest of my hair, more wiry, so they definately stick out.  It's so lovely. Tongue Tied

  • I'm 20, and last time I had my hair done the stylist pulled out 6 of them. I'm blaming on the baby.

  • My hair has been going grey/white since I was 15.  Do not pull them out--they will come back and be short and annoying--they will stick out of your regular hair and be more noticeable.  I usually get highlights and that covers most of them.  Tomorrow, I will be getting all of my hair dyed for the first time (professionally) and then highlighted.  Trust me, pulling them out is a very bad idea.

  • Seriously.... don't feel bad.  I'm 29 and LITERALLY more than half my hair is WHITE.  It's been this way since I was about 23 or so and just progressively gets worse. Like if I don't dye my hair and let it grow in I would be completely salt and pepper like a 60 year old woman.  And when I do dye my hair, my hair grows so fast that within 3 weeks I already have at least an inch of roots. I've even gotten white hairs within my eyebrows, even a sprout of one or two on my upper lip and do I dare say it???...a few down there too!  So next time you notice those wirey white hairs, just think of me ;)  It could be worse.
  • I'm 26 and found a (just one so far, thank gawd!) wiry white hair the other night. I pulled it out and told DH...no sympathy there..actually, he was kinda an a$$, so I cried a little.

The next day I called my Mom to see when she started finding white and gray hairs, and she told me it was probably just pregnancy hormones and stress.

I have no idea if that's true, but it makes me feel better, so I'm going with it :)
