Breech at 30wks?

So we just had our 30wk u/s and, as I expected, this kid is breech.  I have always felt kicks super low with him.  I know we still have gobs of time left and my OB nurse gave me some excersizes to do to help him turn.  Plus I do tons of yoga and know my teacher will have some poses that should help him turn around.  If he's still breech at 37wks, we have the option of having a version (sp?) at the hospital.

But I need some success stories... If your kid was breech at 30wks or later, did they turn and when?

ETA:  otherwise the kid looked great!  Another big-headed boy!  I have some 3Ds that I'll try to post later of his precious face.

  • Long time no see! How is your brother feeling??

This baby was breech until last week (or was it 2weeks). I wasn't worried because I am a scheduled c/s anyways, but around 30 or so weeks it was confirmed that s/he was breech and then s/he turned head down by my last appointement/ internal. HTH and GL!!

  • DD turned around 33 weeks.  It hurt like hell- I thought I was in labor, and it turned out she had just flipped.  I told my OB I would NOT do an external version, so I was glad she flipped.  Ended up with a C/S anyway (emergency during labor)- but it all worked out for the best.
  • DS was breech until 35 weeks! He finally turned then. I did nothing special with him, he just did it when he was good and ready. LOL GL!

  • I'm currently pregnant (34 weeks) and the baby was breach at 30 weeks, transverse at 32 weeks, and head down at this week's appointment.  Have you seen the website www.spinningbabies.com?  I did some of the exercises from there - not sure if that's what did it or if the baby turned on it's own, but it can't hurt to try!
  • My DD was breech for a long time.  About 2 weeks before due date an ultrasound showed that she flipped.  Then in my last week of pregnancy I saw 3 different doctors for various reasons.  Not one of them picked up on the fact that she flipped to breech position again.  It was only when I was actively trying to push her out after induction that they realized she was breech and gave me an emergency c-section.

I think I know when she flipped back to breech.  I remember feeling her move and thinking that she flipped - but I didn't trust myself and I didn't question the doctors.  If I had it to do all over again.  I would have asked for another ultrasound.

Best wishes to you!  (Oh, the plus side of my story is the c-section was actually a much easier recovery than my earlier vaginal delivery recovery with DS.)

THIS!!  I, too, was against a version and I was concerned about him not turning, but one night as I was trying to fall asleep, he started going bananas and I thought I was going into labor -  talk about pain!!  Little man flipped on his own, but wow... what an experience! :)

  • The docs don't worry til 36w - there's plenty of time. ?DD stayed that way, DS was transverse til 34w. ?Only about 3% of births are breech.

I also had a version. Try to hang in there until you know for sure you need to worry about it (I know, easier said than done). ?Version in detail in my so-called bio if you're interested.
