I've had it... I'm fed up with the crappy care and it's going down hill since we put our notice in last Wednesday. He was supposed to go all next week too, but I said eff it.
In the past 1 wk, I've picked him up and 3 times his diaper is so full it's sagging off him. 1 of those times it was poop filled, the poop had dried to his butt and he was rashy-plus his pants were soaking wet and STUNK. I was supposed to pay for next week, but in light of recent things I don't think I should. Obviously they are not caring for him properly...

Re: fed up with dcp, pulling him out today.
Wow, that's reassuring-- most of you agree that they shouldn't be paid.
I called to talk to the director (or the current place) and was told she's on vaca until Monday-she's ALWAYS gone. So the self proclaimed "administrative helper" (she's the cook) pushed and prodded to see what I wanted telling me SHE could answer my questions and help me. So, I told her-Today is DS's last day and I need to know if I will be required to pay next weeks." her answer: "oh, I can't answer that. you have to talk to the director." Yeah, no sh!t sherlock!!! WTFever. UGh. I'm annoyed/angry! This day can't end fast enough. I wanna go get my kiddo and hug him. They better not be mean to him either!!!
My SIL works for the state office that deals with the licenses and such for all the daycares...I'm sure she'll do something with this info. She's very protective of her nephew.
A letter?? Hmm...that's a good idea. Since the director ins't there-ever.
Wanna help me write this letter? I suck at confrontation.
I would definately pull your son out & refuse to pay for next week. If she tells you that you have to pay I would tell her that you are reporting her & I might drop that your family member works for that office so your report could go through faster & may start higher up b/c of it.
Michelle
this. there is no excuse for that. At all.
I remember your last story about them yelling at him, too. This would be the last straw for me. Every daycare I know of changes diapers every 2 hours (unless it's a poop), no matter what.
Let see-- the one of the teacher yelling at the 3yr old to not tattle when she started asking/telling on another child? (the kid REALLY needed help, was not tattling!) or the one when they said they had candy (lie) for ds and when he ran over all excited they made him sit in time out?
Then I would, good to have some pull there. I'm not the type to go over heads but this is health and safety we are talking about.
I voted other.
You may not legally have a choice if you signed a contract with them that states you'll give a certain amount of notice. Sure, I'd agree with most everyone that I would be pissed and not think they deserved it, but if you're legally bound then that doesn't matter at all...in that case I'd just pay up and sever all ties. Just be done with them. Not paying them could make your relationship drag out and get even uglier and take way more of your time if they decide to pursue it in small claims court.
Cleo- I did sign a contract that I would give 2wks notice...however, that was under the understanding that they would give proper care to my child. I don't think I would REALLY fight it. If she wants to be a btch about it, I'll mail them a check.
I am not the only one having issues. His class used to have about 12 kids in it, now there's maybe 8 (on a full day). I know at least 3 of those parents left because they were mad about the situation/daycare care.
Ami--shoot, I'll help you write the letter. I'm super assertive and have no problems getting my point across.
And as for contracts--they're required to take proper care of your child. Period. And that wasn't done.
yup, pretty sure I do.
Give me a few minutes.
Bahahaa!!!! Love it!! I'd never think of a witty response like that! ::clapping::
