Houston Babies

**Texassmith**

I came over here lurking and saw your name.  I haven't "seen" you since we were on the tri boards and wanted to say hi.  I'm not sure if you even remember me it's been so long.  Natalie is adorable.  How are you doing?  I hope all is well.  I see you're moving to NJ.  Is that for work?

  • Hi, of course I remember you! Maren is a cutie, and I just love that name. We are moving to NJ because DH is starting grad school at Princeton. We are excited and nervous and every other possible emotion all at the same time. How are you doing?

Wow!  Grad school at Princeton.  He must be a smarty pants. :)  I would be nervous too, but change is almost always for the better.  Have you found a place to live yet?  Are you still a SAHM?

We're good.  Maren is growing like a weed.  She's so fun.  I love being a mom.  We're trying for #2, but it takes us a while.  I'm not very anxious this time around though since Maren keeps me busy.  I'm working part-time, but it feels like full-time.

He is a smarty pants, I'm so proud of him :) We are actually going up next week to find a place to live. I am still a SAHM...it will be a little harder once we move and are living on a grad student budget, but we're pretty committed to finding a way to keep me at home. I may eventually do something part-time, who knows. GL with TTC! We are probably going to start trying for #2 once we get up to NJ. It takes us a while too, but I am bound and determined not to stress about it this time. I think things will be easier now that I already have a kid, actually. She is so fulfilling, like I won't feel like my arms are totally empty, just waiting for a baby, ya know? Hopefully we'll both have an easier time this time.

    Great catching up with you!

That's great.  You should be very proud.

I feel the same about TTC.  I feel so blessed to have Maren that anything else is just icing on the cake.  Good luck with your move.  It sounds like you have a good tentative plan.  Is this the only board you post on?  I might come check on you in a couple months and see how the move went. :)

I post on this board and the local Houston non-baby board. I don't do any of the national boards anymore. I'm also on another mom message board (https://modernbliss.activeboard.com) and I love it! That's where I spend most of my online time these days :)
