Do burp cloths and recieving blankets need to be washed?

I washed alllll of the baby's bedding last night. I even threw in the bed skirt and mattress pad in there.Embarrassed Now I'm wondering about burp clothes, recieving blankets and even socks.

  • I plan to wash everything - clothes, bedding, blankets, etc. I won't wear clothes I buy for myself without washing them so the same will go for the baby.

  • We washed everything when Ella was an newborn.  Then found out that is a lot of work haha.

  • I washed absolutely everything!  The stuff is so small that you can do a ton in each load.

  • i would.  makes it all a lot softer and gets off any "yuck" from the plastic wrap.

  • Thanks girls! Looks like the entire closet is going in the wash!

  • Yes, everything should be washed but I'm not sure if you want to wash it all now because its going to sit for a while yet - are you putting it ON the crib? Either way, everything should be washed, yes. Think of where that stuff comes from (Asia) and sits in a crate/shipping container with God-knows-what in there with it...not to mention chemicals to dye it, etc.
  • I plan on washing everything.  I know it's a pain, but probably best.
