The SA-friendly condom option

Hi, all.

For anyone whose DH faces an SA, my DH and I used one of the special condoms to collect his sample.

DH says the condom was not as comfy nor as easy to get on as a normal one. But the experience was A LOT better than (insert your favorite silly euphemism here) into a cup.

That is all. :)

Re: The SA-friendly condom option

  • Thanks for the info!  My DH is so uncomfortable with producing his sample alone in the lab but there are no options for us (at least that I have found) to do it at home and take it to the lab.  So I guess the question for us is will the lab let us both participate in the testing in the lab?  LOL - guess I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one.

LOL. Perhaps they'll have a "honeymoon suite" set up for you. :)

I take it you live further than an hour's drive from the lab? That was the stipulation at my REs: you had to be able to "deliver" the sample within an hour.

    Haha - love it :)

We actually don't live over an hour away, but they still won't let us deliver.  I'm going to try talking to them again to see what they say though.  If not, DH will just have to suck it up.  The nurse at my OB's office was telling me about all the nooks and crannies, bathrooms, conference rooms, stairwells, etc. in the building where the lab is.  She recommended sneaking off to one!

Ah, it was you with the funny nurse story!

Lord knows my DH still has to be told to suck it up sometimes when it comes to this. He frequently says how "clinical" this process is. Yeah, I know! I'm age-challenged, ok?

I have to say that with the things I've endured I wouldn't be too understanding if he was whining about this!  We did get to deliver ours and there is no way I would "help him" at a lab or doctor's office.  I would be mortified and just make everything much, much worse. lol
