Infertility

The Plan

We had our follow up meeting yesterday after all our testing and we are pretty boring according to the RE. DH's SA came back with great #'s the form was alittle low but since everything else so good the RE said that it was nothing to worry about. My tests were all normal and they confirmed I ovulated last month.

While this is great news. I am annoyed. If everything is fine why are we not pregnant. So I guess we are diagnosed with "unexplained" This should be fun.

We are going to start treatment with Letrozole, a trigger shot and TI. Does anyone have any experience with Letrozole. It doesn't seem as common as clomid but according to RE it has less side effects.

Thanks in advance for any info you might have.

Letrozole is the same as Femara.  I have been on both Clomid and Femara and let me tell you.....Femamra is SO much better as far as side effects go.

My RE believes that it has a much higher success rate than clomid too.  Of course this is just off of his patients response to the meds.

I don't really have any advice... but I feel your pain on the "unexplained" label.

    GL to you!

  • I've been on clomid for 3 months and I just started Femera yesterday for medicated cycle # 4.  I have read that is has less side effects than clomid and I'm looking forward to not being a raving *** this month.  I O on my own also.

  • Its great to have a plan isn't it?  Allows the hope to come back...  We just got our plan on monday and I have started on Clomid...hoping that it makes me O for the first time in a while!!!
  • I don't have any experience with Letrozole, but I do know how frustrating being unexplained can be.  I never actually thought I would be wishing for medical tests to come back and tell me something is wrong with me.  We just did our transfer for our first IVF yesterday and we still have no diagnosis so I'm not sure that we ever will.  Good luck with everything!
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!
