It is when you release more than one egg a cycle. Unless you have extensive testing or fraternal twins, I don't know how one would know they have it.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
ehhh...google is so easy. But here: I haven't heard of anyone having this naturally though.
Normally a woman will release just one egg from her ovary each month (women are born with millions of eggs in their ovaries), which then travels through her fallopian tube and enters the uterus waiting to be fertilized.
Hyperovulation occurs when more than one egg is released by a woman during her monthly menstrual cycle. This release of multiple eggs increases the chance of conceiving fraternal twins or even triplets.
Some women carry a gene, popularly called the "twin gene," for this
pattern of hyperovulation and can pass it on to their daughters.
Thanks for the info ..I was just wondering ....she says when she ovulates....one day she feels it on her right side and the next day she feels it on her left side ...her doc said she prolly has hyperovulation ...I asked her how often she feels this same scenario and she said sometimes every other month when she is ovulating .....

Just because she "feels" cramping doesn't make it definitely ovulation cramps, though. I felt O pains for weeks and never O'd. She could have cysts or gas or something else. Is she TTC?
