Anyone have this? I sheepishly went into Labor and Delivery this morning because I'd been cramping since last night. I figured they would send me home, but it turns out I was having some small contractions. My cervix was still looking great, I had no signs of any infection, and I was super-hydrated, so I'm back home and I'm not supposed to worry (!!), but I'm to come in if it gets worse. I've googled "uterine irritability" already and it doesn't sound too scary.
It's lucky timing because my summer job is over, so I'm going to relax on the couch with a book. I am still feeling crampy, though, and sort of nervous that I won't be able to tell if it actually gets worse.
I'd so appreciate it if anyone has stories to share....
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
Re: Irritable uterus?
I went in at 29 weeks with contractions I could feel and by the time I got to the hospital and hooked up to the monitors I was still having them but couldn't feel them. I was also well hydrated, closed up and everything looked good. They also told me I have an irritable uterus. I got the impression that's what they say when they don't know what else to say. Since then- nothing
Just rest up and keep your feet up for a while.
GL!
(Now I'm PRAYING for contractions and nothing's going on!!!)
After I was admitted to the hospital due to PTL and put on hospital bedrest, I continued to have an irritable uterus all the way up until the end... My chart on the monitor was rarely ever flat and was often all over the place.
After my water broke, I could definitely tell a change in my uterine activity and contractions - more than just the usual irritability - so if my water hadn't broken, I definitely would've notified my nurses of a change!
Thank you so much for sharing your stories. I'm going to relax and hope this goes away...
And Nicole, you can have my contractions!!
