(ha can you tell im desperate) im hoping by then some change has happened but who knows. and by then im sure I will be ready to get this show on the road. Thanks Ladies!

  • I thikn that the evening primerose oil helps but I'm going toa sk my doc today...

  • Your DH's spermies will help and so would having the Big O yourself.  Both release the same hormones that will help thin out your cervix.

    Good luck!

  • Hmmm, I've only heard the semen thing.  Maybe walking will help get LO down there!

Is that in the same boat as Castor Oil?? Because if so. thats one thing I am certainly not willing to try.. I think it would be so grose and heard it make you poop ALOTT

  • EPO does not have a castor oil effect.  You can take it orally or insert it vaginally.  That said I've been using it since 38 weeks and have had no real change in effacement -- still 50%.  I'm not super religious about doing the suppository but I try to take at least the 3 pills daily dosage every day.

Castor Oil is supposed to help trigger contractions, not help thin things.  And I'd rather try almost anything natural than be induced; even if it were a bit unpleasant that way.  Just think of it like this: the more poo that comes out into the toilet, the less that comes out on the delivery table.....

  • My midwife mentioned evening primrose oil, too - not drinking (which is what you do with castor oil, right?) but rubbing down there. I've got a while to go though so I didn't write that down - I'd ask your dr etc first.

  • Tell your Doc to chill out.  You and baby are doing just fine and there is no cause for concern, even if you go for another week and a half.  Doc is welcome to do fetal monitoring to make sure everything is peachy, but he shouldn't "assume" things are bad "just because" you're nearing your EDD. There is no medical cause.  Yeesh.  Chill man.

My Docs practice is different. They dont like you to go past a certain time. Thats fine with me. I obviously would rather go on my own but if im 41 weeks and he wants to induce me. im not arguing that either, ha

My OB won't let me go past 41 weeks either.  I'm not complaining.
