Another question...what is everyone picking for a going home outfit?? Something cute and dressy or a cute sleeper, etc. I keep looking at different websites, but can't find anything I'm happy with to bring my little man home in.
I had DD pick out her sister's coming home outfit - she choose a cute footless sleeper from Hanna Andersson, we have DH's sweater that he came home in in case she needs it and I got the cutest pair of socks from Life is Good in case she needs those.
We don't really know how big he is going to be (ie he could be too big for a newborn size outfit). So, instead of spending a lot of $ on a super cute outfit, we are bringing a cute newborn size sleeper that came with a hat and another one that is similar in a 0-3 mo size just in case.
DH picked out her coming home outfit (that is the tradition in his family). He picked a great outfit too! He picked out a onesie, pants and a hoodie. She is due the end of September, so I figured we would be covered perfectly for the weather. If it is warm, we can not put the hoodie on her, if it is cold we have the hoodie and a blanket for her.
We are team green, we decided to go with a cute little onesie set that has a matching bib, hat & booties as well as a blanket. I have a pair of pants in case its cool but it probably won't be. Its white & gray with teddy bears. There are photos in my blog. Its cute but not super dressy.

FYI: I seriously doubt that he will be too big for NB size. DS was 8lbs, 6 oz and the NB size was swimming on him (the tag said for 5-7lbs). He didn't fit into 0-3 for over a month.
The way I look at it is just for picture purposes because you just put them in it and take them home - they don't go anywhere else so just get something that will photograph well
I am going to pick from items we have. ?I will probably take a onesie and a sleeper in a couple different sizes. ?Also a couple cute hates that he can wear for photo ops in the hospital. ?oh, and socks that he can kick off ten times on the way home:)
We just found our going home outfit the other day by accident.
Miles' nursery is entirely done in monsters (I wanted "Where the Wild Things Are", but there is nothing in the stores). Anyway, we came across a cute little footed sleeper with a baby monster on the front, with a cracked egg. It says "Just Hatched" under the monster. It is super cute!!! (Now, let's hope he fits in it . . .)

We want baby to be as comfy as possible. I have 2 different options depending on the temperature that day. It has been crazy weather this year in Michigan. Either way, underneath he will be wearing the same onsie that DS wore and then on top either a cute sleeper or a cute romper. All are newborn size. DS was 8 lbs. 12 oz. and the Newborn size clothes were still big on him.
I'm packing 3...one is the outfit my DH wore home from the hospital in 1976, but it may be too small, so I'm also packing the outfit my MIL bought for DH to wear home (he was 2 months preemie, so it's a normal newborn size) and then also a lightweight, old yellow plaid onesie that I found at a consignment shop. It's so light and it reminded me of what summer babies wore back in the day. If I'm feeling low-maintenance, that might be what I go with. I really don't want him to poop on his daddy's antique clothes!
Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
I have a pair of soft footed sleepers and smaller kimono-style onesies w/ footed pants. We'll see what fits. The idea is comfort and what's easiest to put on.
well, its summer here, and i figure the baby himself if cute enough, so we wont need a nice outfit for him to wear probably just one time. Were going with a onesie, most likely.
Re: Baby's going home outfit...
Stan: A really cute but simple grey football oneise with grey pants.
McKenna: A pretty little long sleeve top and mathing pants. ( her Daddy picked it out after 20 minutes of staring at the racks)
Evelyn: Will wear this cute little cotton dress that I got from Target.
Actually all their outfits came from Target.......

This is what LO will be wearing home. My little brother wore one exactly like it and my mom is letting me borrow it.
