Is Propel okay to drink?

i HATE the taste of water.... but i learned to drink it when i was on WW.... but i always added a packet of crystal light to my large water bottle to give it a little taste... my doctor told me that it was okay for me to have 1 a day...

does anyone know if it is okay to drink Propel... i would also drink that very watered down... just to give that water a little taste

I don't know why it wouldn't be. I was told to drink it daily or Gatoraid during my 2ww after IVF.

  • Why wouldn't Propel (or Vitamin Water or Gatorade/G2, ect) be okay to drink?  Are you worried about the possibility of artificial sweeteners?

It doesn't have aspartame, if that's what you're asking.

  • I don't see why you wouldn't be able to drink Propel.  Does it have aspartame or Splenda in it like Crystal Light? (I forget if Crystal Light still has aspartame in it or not.)  If not then it's actually better for you then the Crystal Light.  As long as you are getting fluids in then you  should be fine.  The first 8 weeks of this pregnancy I could not drink anything but Vitamin Water...not even plain water.  It was the only thing that helped with my morning sickness.  My Doctor said that was okay to drink, he said as long as I am drinking and keep it down he doesn't really care what I drink.

  • It's fine.

  • Propel has Aspertame..I wouldn't
  • i'm looking at the ingredients right here in front of me - it does not have aspartame (crystal light does) or splenda.... i was told that splenda was okay...

but yeah - i am worried about artificial sweetners... other than aspartame

  • Propel should be just fine!

You need to watch out for Vitamin Water and other vitamin-fortified drinks, as they will add to your vitamin A intake on top of PNV's--too much Vitamin A is not good for baby.

  • Pre-pregnancy I drank it all the time. ?But just discovered it has sucralose which is??a zero-calorie sugar substitute artificial sweetener. ?I have stopped drinking it until I talk to my doctor.

  • did some more research online...  according to the american pregnancy association...

"Sucralose: (Splenda) This is non-caloric sweetener that is made from sugar. Sucralose has been approved for use in baked goods, baking mixes, non-alcoholic beverages, chewing gum, coffee and tea products, confections and frostings, fats and oils, frozen dairy desserts and mixes, fruit juices, sugar substitutes, sweet sauces, toppings and syrups. It can also be used as ?table-top sweetener.? Sucralose has no effect on blood sugar, offers no calories, and is deemed safe during pregnancy and lactation. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), sucralose is safe for everyone to consume, including pregnant women."

propel in fact does not have aspertame.

  • I hope it is ok! It is the only thing I've been drinking! I don't think I could've given up soda without it!
