If you haven't heard, they're moving out of Women and Babies and out to Heart of Lancaster. I'm very torn because I have loyalties to hospital and to the practice, but I'll have to choose one or the other. I can't deliver at WBH with OBGYN.
My MIL used to be a delivery nurse - when I was deciding between my current practice and another one, she let me know that they called Heart of Lancaster the "Hole". She told me I would want to deliver at WBH. I'm glad I took her advice, since I LOVE my mw and ob/gyn practice.
I didn't actually ever see HOL, so this is heresay technically
If you decide to switch practices, I usually see Cheri Gard (CNM) at Eichenlaub and May. It's just the 3 of them - I LOVE it there.
Thanks, Megan. I saw Cheri when she was with OB/GYN back in 2000 for my first ever trip to the GYN and I loved her. I would be happy with May-Grant, too, it's just that they are getting so huge. I think this will only increase that because at least the LGH employees will have to move OB practices. Our insurance covers 100% of delivery at WBH, I doubt anything close to that if at all at Heart.I mean, why would they?
I'm glad I'm not having a baby right on the cusp. Hopefully there will be a few months to see how deliveries at HOL grow from Oct through the end of the year when we may think about #2. RIght now they only have 300 deliveries a year. That's less than one a day!
That's the exact reason I didn't go with May-Grant when I moved up here, there are so MANY doctors and patients! Call me old-fashioned, but if you're gonna be all up in my girl parts, I want to know you LOL! (The Dr. May at my practice is the May-Grant Dr. May's daughter ) Eichenlaub and May is literally just Dr. Eich, Dr. May, and Cheri.
I do know that HOL just had a renovation, maybe that low number is why the practice is moving. That's incredibly low! On the plus, you would never have to wait for a room for induction LOL! You'd be practically guaranteed!
