In need of Advice: Menstrual Like Cramping?

Ok need some help.. for about 3 days over the past weekend, I have been getting occassional menstrual like cramping...

Its enough that im uncomfortable but I wouldn't say I am in pain and it isnt anything that can be timed.

No bleeding is occuring with it either.

Wondering if any one can give me advice/suggestions thank you

  • You might be dehydrated and not know it. Try drinking tons and tons of water/gaterrade/icepops etc.

  • I would call your OB....GL!

  • I had a lot of this around 36 or 37 weeks. I mentioned it to my OB and she wasnt concerned, she said it was just my body getting ready. Call your doc if it will set your mind at ease. GL.

  • I spoke with my OB about this, I get them regularly, and she was not worried, told me to sit down and drink plenty of water when it happens.
  • I definitely think it could be related to dehydration.  Drink a few glasses of water and see if the cramping continues.  If it disappears, then continue to stay hydrated.  If they continue, I would definitely reach out to your doctor to see if they can shed any light.  GL!
  • I've been having the same thing for about a week. I'm not concerned b/c they are not consistent or increasing in intensity, and there is no bleeding. I figure it's just all part of the process.

I got this response too.  He also added that it is my body getting ready for labor.

  • I had this toward the end of my pregnancy... the doctor told me that it was my body starting to prepare for labor. And once I had true contractions, I realized that these were nothing!
  • I had menstrual like cramps the last few wks of my pg. I e-mailed my doc and told him about it and he said that it is very common the last few weeks of pregnancy. The body is doing a lot of things to prepare for childbirth.
  • Those are contractions.

    Most likely BH.

Because you're only 34 weeks, if you have more than 4 in an hour, you need to call your doctor.

If it's more than 4 in an hour, call your doc. But be drinking that water to keep them away.

  • I've been having this since 37 weeks. My MW said it's normal and they are mild contrax (mine barely registared on the monitor) and they'll get things going. I'm now past my EDD and still having them! They are anoying now, but they've softened my cervix, at the least.
