You know what, I just emailed my BFF next door about this very thing and the answer you just gave me is exactly what she just said. And my response to that is how do you expect people to pay for a program and follow it when you can't practice what you preach...basically. Yes or no?
Sure, I agree with you. But WW is essentially a money-making gig. They want you to buy their food more than they want you to follow their program -- that's where the big bucks are. The frozen meals are cheap and have a high profit margin. If they make them for more expensive ingredients, it will cut into their profits.
One of the reasons I didn't like going to meetings was the leader spent a good bit of time hawking the WW food, books, etc. that you could only get at meetings. People acted like those 2 points bars and little bags of crunchy snacks were their salvation. Personally, I think they should have focused more on encouraging people to eat healthy, natural foods, not swap their cheetos for WW fake cheetos. And I always wondered how they got so much fiber in their ice cream -- that's not normal.
Re: WW - whole wheat pasta question
"Regular" pasta is cheaper.
