My stroller states it is a huge hazard to hang diaper bags on the back, due to tipping. Is this the general rule for all strollers? I was going to buy a diaper bag, and it shows a pic of how it hangs on strollers. Isn't that a no no?
I think that may be a universal warning. That said, it depends mostly on your stroller. A little light Maclaren is probably going to tip over. My Graco Metrolite will in no way tip over. I have a JuJuBe bag with stroller clips and cllip it on the Metrolite all the time. However, I hate the stroller, lol.
The lightweight/umbrella strollers will tip. You can attach little weights to the front to prevent it - but then you're adding weight to your lightweight stroller.
This is why I have a fully stocked bag that stays in my car and I keep just 2 diapers/wipes in my backpack. I also have a bottle carrier that hangs for her bottle.
I never go anywhere where my car is not an easy 30 minute walk too. That is just common sense to begin with.
Plus, who wants to drag around all that heavy stuff?
I go no where without my massive diaper bag. When you ahve a kids who spits up massive amounts you need at least 3 bibs, 2 burp clothes, and at least 1 change of clothes, plus meds, bottles and diapers. That being said I hang my giant Ju Ju Be from the stroller clips on my Peg Perego P3. On the Maclaren, it will tip it if the stroller is empty. As long as DS, is in the stroller it is fine.
I did it with my snap&go, but don't with my city mini.
The snap&go definitely handled having the bag there better, but I still do it with the city mini. As long as DD is in the stroller and I hang the strap down low, it won't tip at all. I don't have a huge bag, though.
We do it on both the maxi-cosi perle and the Bob. On the MC, it is not tippy at all. On the Bob, if the bag is full and we tilt it back at all, it can be tippy.?

when I used our larger bag then i always put it inthe basket now that i have a much smaller bag I sometimes drape it over the handles and there is not way that this bag could weigh the stroller down.

I usually stick it in the basket underneath if I have the big stroller. If I have the umbrella stroller out, I usually am carrying a small bag with only a few diapers and a change of clothes so I am fairly confident it won't tip the stroller.

I hang mine on there all the time. It doesn't trip my stroller, even when the stroller is empty.
