Got to teach DD about rude people...

We were waiting in line this weekend at the amusement park and DD said something to me.  I bent down so that I could hear her, the lady in front of us took one step ahead, so the lady behind us and her 2 older kids cut in front of us.

The lady's friend told her (it was obvious what she was saying although it wasn't English) - you cut in front of these people and she said who cares.

So, I took the opportunity to (loudly) tell DD 'it will be our turn after the people who cut in front of us.  That wasn't nice, but you are being a good girl and waiting your turn'.

Ugh, the more I thought about (after) the more pissed I became.  What kind of biitch do you have to be to cut in front of a 2 yo child?

  • Ugh. She's only teaching her kids to cut in life. ?

We had to deal with this a couple of times last Thursday when I took Layla to an amusement park for her birthday. ?It's amazing how many people think their kids are too good to wait in line or something. ?

  • Seriously??  I would have tapped her on the shoulder and asked her why she thought it was necessary to cut in front of you and then tell her to get back in her original place in line.  What a biotch!

I thought about it, but given that she was speaking a different language to her friend, I figured she would just act like she didn't speak English to me.  I didn't want her to cause a scene and upset DD.

  • I noticed this a lot in Italy and Canada. Not to pick on the French, but they were almost always French. Mh and I were waiting for a museum for over an hour and I saw this lady inching forward. She tried to cut and I told her I was next in line. She looked suprised I said something but moved back. I hate line cutters and will call them out everytime, English or no English.

  • If I was more bold, I would have reminded the lady that line jumping is usually grounds for getting kicked out of the park, but I would have done just what you did to spare a scene. You learn a lot about our society at amusement parks. Unfortunately, it's usually a negative perspective.
