Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Did vaccines screw up your LO's sleep patterns?

Our older DD never really reacted to vaccines. I remember she slept a lot after her 2 month vaccines, but that was it.

Alaina had her 2 month shots on Wednesday and that night she did not sleep well. We had trouble getting her to bed and then she didn't sleep nearly as long as she usually does.

She normally goes to bed around 8pm and sleeps all night until 7:30am. (I know, we are very lucky.) The next two nights she went to bed a little later than 8pm and woke up at 3:30am. She wouldn't go back to sleep the first night and then she did go back to sleep the 2nd night. This morning she woke up at 5am, which is better. I'm hoping this means she's falling back into her normal sleep pattern. I hope so because we are spoiled and got used to her sleeping 11 1/2 hours a night since she was a month old. lol

Did your LO go through something like that? Where their nighttime sleep pattern was screwed up for a few days and then went back to normal?

I'm not complaining because I know she sleeps ridiculously well for her age; I'm just curious!

Happily married Mom to 2 beautiful little girls, 2 dogs and 2 cats (all rescues), 2 fish and one 29 year-old firebelly newt.

  • DS gets screwed up for about a week after shots.  He is getting his 6 month shots early next week since we are moving and Im not looking forward to it!

  • Nope, DS is so big...the vaccinations didn't bother him at all.

  • oh YES!  DD just got hers on Thursday and has not been the same since. She refused to nap and really eat yesterday then was up every two hours last night when she normally does a 7 and 5 hour stretch :(
  • No, vaccines didn't really mess up his sleep pattern. ?If anything, it made him a little more tired. ?He took a nice extra long nap right after getting his 4 month shots and still slept well that night.

  • Yes! Her sleep patterns were screwed up for a week after her 2 month shots. She had finally been sleeping long stretches in her bassinet, but after tat, she was up every 2 hours and didn't want anything to do with the bassinet, she would only sleep with me. She's back to normal now though.
