DS 1's name is Liam and the new baby will be named Rowan. ?Whenever I tell people the new baby's name or if I say both kids names together people always say they sound very regal or proper. I think it is when the middle names are said as well, Liam Richard and Rowan Charles. ?They don't sound too?much of anything to you, do they? ?Be honest. ?We are 99% set on Rowan and Charles is a family name but we could possibly use Joseph. Do you like Rowan Joseph better?
Anyway, it's not like I will be running around calling them by their first and middle names in public.?
Re: Do my sibling names sound too pretentious together?
I think Benjamin Charles is crazy cute. ?Maybe the Charles just kicks it up a notch. ?I adore it though. ??
I like them!
And I think we should give our kids names that are good adult names. They are only kids for a small portion of their life!
Thanks. Charles is FIL name and we were going to use it no matter what name we chose.
I used to get the pretentious, he is destined to be a lawyer, too-big-of-a-name-for-a-little-guy comments with Jeffersons name all the time.
I think your names sound great together=)
I do not think regal is necessarily bad. But that said, I think Rowan is very girly sounding so when I read this before the middle names I assumed you were having a girl.
I think they sound great together!!
Of course, I named my kids Elizabeth and Charles, so maybe I'm not one to talk....
I love the names, and think they sound great together, but I too thought the new baby was a girl until I saw the middle name. I think it's because I went to high school with 2 Rowan's (both female) and I believe Brooke Shields' daughter is also named Rowan so I have it in my head that it's a girls' name. Not that this will change your selection, just a point
