Does anyone know if soy is safe during pregnancy? I am lactose intolerant, and have substituted soy milk (about 1/2 cup per day on cereal) for regular cow's milk.
Personally, my OB/GYN never mentioned anything to me about avoiding soy products during either of my pregnancies, however I have seen some new info coming out that does show a possible link between soyduring pg and genetic problems with the fetus. https://www.becomehealthynow.com/article/soy/1089/
I would can the Dr's office and get their opinion on this issue.
They say as long as it's fortified it's okay to drink. I would double check with your doc though before you start drinking it. I'm a bit lactose as well and I've been drinking skim milk and it's been helping.
I'm allergic to dairy, so I drink soy milk. Doctor says it's ok, but it should be fortified. She also suggested switching it up with almond milk and goats milk.
