I'm sure you all have been asked this before. My question to you all is, did you do them all? At the time the doctors said you should? Did you space them out? If so, how long? Is there a vaccine you did not do? I work in Special Ed and do not think the vaccines have caused Autism, although I don't see a point in doing so many vaccines and so many at one time. Please enlighten me as to what you think and did!
Re: Vaccinations!
This. We trust her recommendation.
We're doing the Dr. Sears alt vac schedule for the reasons you mentioned.
ETA: My pedi actually does the alt vac schedule fairly regularly and was very familiar with it. Check out The Vaccination Book if you want some good info--it's very comprehensive and isn't desgined to scare you into not getting your LO vacc'd. It's just a good way to be informed about what each vac does, what the contents are, what the side effects are, etc.

I also don't believe that they cause autism but I do believe that the number of shots kids get today is insane, especially all at once. WHO do they test these on? hmm? I mean, how an animal reacts is much different than how a baby is going to react IMO.
I also don't believe in the logic - just do them at once to get it done with. Ugh. Nor the 'what my pedi recommends' logic. Too many times I have seen pedi's recommend things to people that is insane. And, no offense but just because they were taught to recommend them in school doesn't mean they actually understand all of the science behind them. Drug companies pay a lot of money to push their drugs. My kid will get a lot more shots than I did in the 80s. I also don't agree with the logic - it worked for me, so it will work for my kid - but really ... we are the most heavily vaccinated country of all industrialized nations. Makes you wonder sometimes.
The five vaccines for the 2 mo mark - we looked at them with our doctor and determined how best to break them up in effort to avoid reactions and pain.
We ended up doing two at the two month appointment and will do two at the three month mark and wait for the polo until a bit later (not age 2 but maybe around 6 mo).
We had no pain. No fever. No crying. No abnormal drowsy side effect. Even doing the two shots however, we did have reduced appetite, crankiness surrounding naps and bedtime, but he has since the shot last friday weaned himself off of the 1a feeding and is now sleeping 7p until 6a.
Every baby's reactions are different obviously.
