Hi, I just read your post below. You know, I kinda agree with you about the Greek Orthodox faith vs Catholic. We both got so much out of our premarital counseling with the Orthodox priest. I can not imagine that a Catholic priest would have been so real, kind, or helpful.
Also my H went and talked to our Orthodox priest after our IVF BFN a few weeks ago. He really helped my H deal with the grief and I know he is praying for us to get a baby. Honestly I would not be comfortable talking to a Catholic priest about our IF issues because the Catholic church as a whole is against IVF.
Sounds like you made the right decision to convert. Sorry that it caused family stress.

{{butting in}} I'm presbyterian and my DH is methodist, but we were married by a Greek Orthodox Priest. He is a friend/business associate of mine. He was great for doing the ceremony, we couldn't get married in the church I grew up in and he stepped in to help us.
We got a lot of compliments on the ceremony, he made it very personal.

I'm so much happier now with my faith--not that I wasn't before, but things just feel right to me now. I have always felt very judged by every Catholic priest that I have had contact with, well except for the one at my parents church who they made me talk to after I told them of my plans. He was very supportive of my decision and told me to tell my parents to talk to him if they still had concerns. I feel so comfortable with all the Greek Orthodox priests that I've had contact with so far. I'm glad your priest was able to help your DH deal with his grief.
My parents seem to be fine with my decision now, but it was rather stressful at first.
