Anyone try cherries?

DS is just starting to like table foods and blueberries, grapes, bananas are a hit.  I have never seen a puree with cherries in it (store bought) and I am thinking about cutting up cherries- but they are sort of bitter sometimes.  Anyone try cherries? Pureed or pieces?

they put cherries in turkey and other meats. We have bought frozen black cherries and we heat them and cut them up and mix with oatmeal. HUGE hit!

  • DD liked the apples & cherries puree, so I bought some cherries when they were on sale...and she loves them!  I cut them in half, and the halves into quarters.  Best served to a baby in only his/her diaper, though -- they STAIN.
  • We have gotten cherries in our CSA box the past few weeks.  I pit them and add 1/2 cup water and let them simmer on the stove for 15 minutes or so and then puree in the food processor.  DS loves them!!  I mix with plain yogurt and oatmeal too.
  • Huh, I have been looking for a gerber puree with cherries- I wonder if my target just doesn't carry that one- I will have to look around and just try chopping them up too.  Thanks.  Yes, I assumed they would stain- like the blueberries- I have been calling DS my blueberry muffin all week because he was stained blue from head to toe!
  • My DS is currently addicted to bing cherries, my mom introduced them and now it's our go-to fruit (for this week).

Sounds about right!  DD loves blueberries...but the poo is freaky.  TMI, I know, but such is life:-)
