Is this too pushy?

I have an appt with my ob/gyn in early August because we've had no luck in getting pregnant. However my appt will fall close to mid-cycle. I suspect one of the first things to do is testing including cycle day three bloodwork.RIGHT? Well, that will push us back until Sept. Which right now sounds like an eternity away

Would it be too pushy to call and ask if I could get an earlier appt or to see about scheduling that bloodwork? Is it too soon to be the patient from H?

    I don't think it would be pushy to call and explain the situation, and ask them to call you if there is a cancellation or if there's some other way they can squeeze you in.

    Every dr is different in how they order tests.  I didn't do a day 3 until several months into me seeing my ob/gyn for this.  I think a lot depends on your history and how much info you can give him/her about your cycles.  Like PP said though, it wouldn't be bad to explain and ask to be on their cancellation list.

    I would call and ask about your Drs. standards for TTC.  How long have you been trying?

    I dont think that is pushy.  You are just being a proactive patient.  If you are nice about it I cant imagine that would be a problem.

    You don't have to start with CD3 testing. I happened to have an appt w/my ob/gyn on CD21 and asked him if we could start there, rather than waiting for a new cycle to start. He said he was planning on it!

    Thanks everyone. I'm going to call and see if they have any openings and ask since this is an infertility appt if I need to do any bloodwork ahead of time. We've been trying for about seven months, and I'm 39. So that's why I'm a little freaked about time.?

    I am also 39...saw the RE in the middle of my cycle...it turns out I was gearing up to O so he had us do an unmedicated IUI...didn't work, but I liked that he offered it to us.  I went for cd3 testing the next month. 

    I do agree to call and see if you can get in sooner...can't hurt...GL!
