I have been feeding my 7 week old Enfamil Gentlease formula since I started supplementing at 4 weeks. Now she is exclusively on formula. I started using it because my sister in law recommended it. Now I am noticing that she is spitting up A LOT, and not just after feedings, I am talking hours later! We literally have to walk around with a burp cloth all the time. Now that I think about it, my sister in law's baby spit up A LOT too....could it be the formula? Does anyone have experience with this specific formula and similar stories?? HELP!
Re: Enfamil Gentlease...a problem??
this. we just switched to nestle goodstart gentle plus.
try similac sensitive. we are on it for DD (just started this week since the alimentum didnt help her reflux symptoms, and now the ped think she may not ahve an allergy to milk, just bad reflux all the way around) so she seems to be fairly happy on it (we are using the sensitive RS with a 2 tsp extra rice cereal per 7 oz per pedi)
it sometimes takes a few different formulas (and different brands) with the babies to find what works best for them.
did you ever try regular enfamil? If not- i'd try that before going to anything else. I found the gentlease to be thinner - so that might be making her spit up more... the regular enfamil is heavier so i feel it stays down better and fills them up more.
we tried the gentlease when my boys were super gassy after weaning from EBM.... I didn't like it - horrible smelly and runny poops and they were twice as hungry when on it. We went back to regular enfamil and are just using mylicon as needed- and working out well now.
sometimes just the switch from EBM to formula can cause tummy problems, too.
