North Carolina Babies

need major help with feeding :(

Nora basically refuses all veggies.  What do I do?  She will feed herself cheerios, puffs, anything of that nature.  But a steamed carrot or a cube of sweet potato, no way!  She'll stick them in her mouth and spit them out.  She's picky already!

She'll eat yogurt, and pureed fruit and even chunks of fruit (had bananas last night and plum the night before).  She just hates veggies now....even pureed sweet potato...how do you not like that?!  She used to eat up green beans, peas, carrots, everything!

  • Are you feeding her meat at all? what I did recently was took ground turkey and sauteed it with carrot and squash baby food purees. I guess you could use any veggies.  DS gobbles it up.  It may not be as good as raw veggies but its better than nothing.  You might also want to try the fruit and veggie combo jars.  I know earths best makes some.

  • AT went through this strike too. He still does sometimes. I love Earths Best stuff. They have the chic and stars that AT loves! He liked the 3rd stage stuff too.

I would move onto some meat choices. What about pasta with really small chicken peices mixed in? I tried some of it wtih AT while we were out and he loved it....he likes rice to. I know a white diet sucks.....but they will eat....I keep telling myself that. As much as we like to give them variety they have their own motives. GL.....Im right there with you ;)

  • She spit out rotisserie chicken...didn't like it... tried a plain pasta and she spit it out.  Haven't tried rice yet.  I mean, I can get her to eat, just not veggies.  Sometimes I can get her to eat pureed stuff like carrots and green beans if I'm lucky.  I swear, she would eat only cheerios if I kept putting them on her tray.

  • She also used to eat up avacado and now doesn't eat that.  She has never eaten a green bean.  I mean, the girl can chew, I know because I see her chomping the cheerios and freeze dried fruit... ugh I knew I would be in for it with food

  • Honestly, it may just be a phase. I would not be overly concerned. Ashley refused to eat any green veggies when she was little (only carrots and sweet potatoes). It got a little better when she was able to eat whole foods, but some days it is still hit or miss with green beans and peas. She won't touch broccoli. And I still can't get her to eat any meat. I don't stress about it too much b/c I know she is getting a pretty well rounded healthy diet from the other foods she eats. Good luck, I know it is frustrating :(
