Low BBT?

Since I finally started menstruating I finally started charting.  I've been amazed at how low my BBT seems.  For example, today was 97.14*F, yesterday was 97.22*F.  I have not seen anything higher than 97.42*F thus far.  I've been stalking a few charts today and generally don't see other numbers this low.  I'll be sure to ask my dr. when I see him but I was just wondering if you've had BBT in a low range or should I expect to see it higher.  (Yes, I know everyone is different.  I'm mostly just making sure it's not off the charts different since some of you have been around this longer and looking at yours/others charts for a longer period of time.)

PS- No, I don't have my chart up because every time I try to post it it seems to go through and then when I write a post, it doesn't attach to the bottom of my post.

My temps consistently go down into the 96 range so 97.1-97.2 is about normal for me. I was worried too in the beginning but I've come to see its just normal for my body.

The first month charting definitely left me questioning what is normal. But, what you are experiencing is fine. I've had 96.5 as a temp before, and I saw someone else's chart today with even lower temps. Happy charting!

**looks down at own chart** I think you're alright. Just look for a pattern after you've temped for a few cycles. You'll probably find that your pre and post-O temps will be similar. GL to you.

My lowest this cycle was 96.6. Temps range its nothing to worry about.

My normal body temperature is low compared to the "normal" temperature. My dr said that is why my BBT is lower than others.

My pre-O temps are relatively low as well. I showed my dr a couple of charts and she was unconcerned.You can click on my FF ticker to look, if you'd like.

Normal pre-o temps are (according to the GP bible Taking Charge of Your Fertility) 97.0-97.5 with post-o temps 97.6-98.6

My temps are consistently in the high 96s - low 97s (FF ticker links to chart if you want to take a peek) until after O, so I'd say you have nothing to worry about!

Mine are low too-both pre and post O...but they are relatively higher post-O so I hope its ok. I had a similar question, so I'm glad you asked!

Ladies- Thanks for being so helpful and not rating this as a stupid question. I don't have a lot of people in my life that I can ask these things to and it's really helpful to get a larger poll.  Not to get all sentimental but, I appreciate having you "bump people" on my computer and in my life.

Mine doesn't usually go over 97 until I O.  They are all under 97 until then ... link in siggy.

Mine are usually in the 96s pre-O, and 97s post-O.  I even had a temp in the 95s this cycle.  No biggie.

I typically temp in the 96 range and sometimes into the 95's. I rarely break 97 unless I've O'd or taken progesterone. Another nestie suggested that because of my PCOS my temp is lower. But I haven't heard/read that anywhere else, so I don't know what the support is for that. 

It's most likely just where you temp at. I wouldn't worry too much about it, what's more important is the temp shift once you O.

I'm usually in the 97's prior to O and then I move up to the high 97's and 98's. I even had some in the 96's it's nothing to worry about, every one is different. If it was dropping below 96  consistently I might be concerned, but 97's sound fine

that's in the normal range for me. i think "low" is if you're consistently in the lower 96s and even 95s.

My temps get as low as 96.7 before O.

My lowest temp so far has been 96.4*

My coverline month 1 was 96.9*

I rarely went above 97 until after ovulation every cycle - your temps aren't low by my book...
