TTC after 35

Here's the deal...

Had my first RE appointment today and am happy to report that we have a game plan.

Unfortunately, the first order of business is that DH needs to have another SA.  He's fine with it.  The hospital where the RE clinic is located is close enough that we can collect at home and deliver immediately.  He much prefers this to having to "produce" in some strange location.  The original SA did not test for Kruger Morphology or antibody testing.  My RE says these tests are very important.  After I post this I'm off the Google to try and figure out wat those tests are all about.

I need to have my CD 3 testing redone.  My ob/gyn only asked for an FSH test.  The RE says it's pretty meaningless without also testing estradoil (sp?).  He also wants a test for AMH?  Says it measures remaining follicles.  Again, I need to spend some quality time with Google. Also makes me want to give my ob/gyn an education in fertility testing...wasting our time really annoys me.

He also wants me to stop taking Evening Primrose Oil and Mucinex.

I have a follow up appt. for 7/31 to discuss all the results.  He said the next step, provided I'm not PG now, will be an HSG.  If I am PG, he want to see me ASAP after a positive PG test to monitor me for the first 2 months to make sure our nest pregnancy has a better result than our last one.

There you have it.  I'm very pleased.  I realy like the doctor.  He's a no-nonsense sort of guy, but seems very sharp. I had heard some mixed reviews about his bed-side manner, but I found him to be totally appropriate...HAPPY TO HAVE A PLAN!

  • Sounds like a good appointment.

I don't think all Dr's need to be rainbow and sunshine all the time as long as they are doing what needs to be done are relatively easy to get in touch with if I have any questions.

    Good luck!

  • Game on!!!
