I used Answer with my last pregnancy. I liked it because there were a lot of test strips and I could test twice per day if I was obsessing. I used to get 3 days of positives and I was 35 at the time. I will be 38 next week and I understand as you get older you may have more positives and a harder time with OPKs. This time around I have positives in the afternoon that go away at night. I have a line that is darker on one side. Positives after a thermal shift before a triphasic pattern. And positives way before my first elevated temp. I'm still breastfeeding my 20 month old but that's not supposed to interfere with OPKs. I'm thinking if there is a more accurate OPK out there then I should use that instead. Any suggestions?
Re: What brand OPK is the best?
Well, for me the best is the Digital OPK (Clear Blue Easy) that gives the smiley face. I hear it is easier to read than the non-digitals, but I wouldn't know, since I never got a positive on any of the non-digitals - not for lack of trying! I also used the monitor for a while, and I think the digitals are just as good as the monitor.
Of course, they are $$$. Especially if you would need to test twice a day. I'm lucky enough to get my positives on day 14 every cycle so far, so I pretty much can use a single 7 day pack for 2 months (3 or 4 each month) just to confirm.
I have used the CBE digital brand and one month I tested with the CBE digital and the regular First Response. The First Response I tested positive and the CBE I tested negative, go figure.
Good luck!!!!
I got PREGNANT using the OPKs from earlypregnancytests.com--2 months of trying on my own--got pregnant the month I started using these babies! 19 weeks along now!!
