DH is a SAHD but starting to pick up consulting work he can do from home (great all around!). We're looking to bring in a college student (it's the sister of a coworker who is living with her for this summer. she goes to school out of state) to sit 2 partial days/week so DH can get work done. My coworker and I have worked together for almost 4 years so I am familiar with her and heard stories about her family over the years (all good).
I guess I am a little nervous since I don't know what to ask or what to expect when she comes to the house tomorrow night to meet us. We've never interviewed any sitter since the few times we've left DS has been with friends or my sister or sister in law (our parents are not around). Since DH will be home just about anytime she sits, I feel like he will have a close eye on what is happening. Does anyone else have a similar situation? Any advice? Or maybe just some support! ![]()
Re: interviewing a sitter
I would ask her about her experience, caring philosophies, talk about your expectations and see how they jive with what her expectations are (can she take him out or do you want him home, outline your clean up expectations, tv rules, etc. things like that).
Then I would just have her start if you feel good about her and make sure the YH was close by the first few times so he could provide feedback or just get an actual view of how she cares for YS.
