I did a lot of research online. We decided on a domestic adoption with an agency. We found an agency not too far from our town and emailed them then went to a meeting to find out more info. We found it was the best option for us and went for it!!
GL in your reserach. Even though I did my own research online there are also books .... I'm just not familiar with any lol.
A good starting point for deciding which type of adoption you want to pursue is the Complete Idiot's Guide to Adoption and Adoption for Dummies. Once you decide on a path, then you can start researching the more nitty gritty details.
i think first decide whether you want to do domestic or international. things to consider are what age child you want to adopt, ethnicity, how long you'd like the process to take, budget, ability to travel, etc.
once you decide that, you can go online and start to research agencies and get info from them. once i spoke with people from a couple of agencies and read through many more, i got a much better idea of what the whole process entails.
good luck!
