Hello,
I'm new and wanted to introduce myself. I'm 30 years old, live in Novi, and have been married for about 8 mths. My husband and I are going to TTC soon. I'm curious if anyone has delivered out of the new Henry Ford W. Bloomfield hospital? I'm in the process of picking an OB and am leaning towards Women's Healthcare Center at Orchard Lake and 15 Mile, they deliver out of the new Henry Ford W. Bloomfield hospital. My husband's cousin recommended Generations in Birmingham which delivers out of Royal Oak Beaumont but I'm nervous that it may be too far to drive for appointments. How often do you usually need to see your OB in your last trimester assuming all is going well and it is not a high risk pregnancy?
Regards,
Liz
Re: Henry Ford W. Bloomfield hospital
I don't know anyone who's delivered out of there yet, but I wish it was closer! I've heard such good things about it that I'd love to deliver there whenever we decide to have a second.
As far as the appointments- typically you go once a month. At 32 weeks you begin going every other week and then at 36 weeks you go every week. Every doctor is different though, so it could be different at those practices. Obviously if you're high risk, that number can go way up. I became high risk halfway thru my pregnancy and had to go every other week, then at 32 weeks until delivery I was going twice a week! My personal opinion, stick with the practice that's closer.

I have also heard very good things about this hospital - though, no first-hand experience.
Good Luck!
"All rooms are private sweets, labor & deliver in same room. They also have room service menus so eat what you want when you're hungry and the food is good!"
Sounds good to me!
I just delievered there four weeks ago!!
it was amazing. the staff is gret, the tub is amazing, the food was like gourmet five star rest. food. you stay in the same room, and there is not chaos like other hospitals. It is like a resort i also heard you can have a mani/pedi at ur bedside...and order sushi.
Sweet! I was worried when my doctors switched from Huron Valley... No worries now!
Curious to know if you had to switch to an overflow room to do overcrowding? I've heard on another board that a couple moms were moved to overflow rooms to accomadate moms that were just being admitted. I hope they add more than 15 LDPR.
Thanks Ladies for all the information! I believe I have made up my mind especially since it is closer to me than RO/Birmingham. Staying in the same room will also definitely be a plus!
I also go to Women's Healthcare.......I LOVE them. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I have been so happy with the care they provide.
I had to go to L&D at 18 weeks due to a contrax scare and triage was great I am SO excited to deliver there. I know a couple people delivering there in the next month or so.
I trust the doctor's at Women's Health enough to know that they made a good decision to deliver there. I have only heard wonderful things......and yes, you can order sushi and get a mani/pedi in your room!
