Saw a mom sucking her baby's pacifier

Yep, my mom and I went to Walmart (ick!) to get a Little Tikes toy box for Sophia (they were the only place around that sells this toy box).  I saw a very young mother with a baby about 2 months old....she was sucking on the baby's pacifier.  First, I thought she was doing it to "clean" the paci.  Then we saw her again in the parking lot and she was doing it.  It just struck me as very strange and immature.  She also had a ton of baby food stage 1 AND stage 2 for this very small baby.   Then she was letting this little girl with her, maybe about 5 years old, hold the newborn and the little girl was bouncing the baby all around.  My mom and I about had heart attacks over this.

that just makes me sad.... poor kid (both the mom and the baby)

I tried a pacifier one time to see what the appeal was. But that is just sad. And just one of the many reasons I now refuse to patronize Wal-Mart - I always left depressed at something I had seen.

I always get sad when I see situations like this.

I truly believe that no one tries to be a bad mother. Its a result of not being ready to be a mother, being uneducated, or not having access to proper supports.

Thus the cycle continues on.

I just saw the same thing at K-Mart today when I went to get J a kiddie pool.  Let's hope it was the same mom.......  oh and unfortunately, there are much much worse things that some moms do.
