2nd Trimester

Do I need to pick a stroller that has a tray?

Do you have a stroller that doesn?t have a tray for your baby/toddler to put their sippy cup or treats on? I like the MAXI-COSI FORAY stroller, but when we were looking at it yesterday, it didn?t have a little tray.  This is my first baby & I?m wondering if I need to find a different stroller that does have a tray. Can some of you experienced mommies please help me out? (Oh, and I know that we will use the car seat that snaps into the stroller for the first 6 months or so, but when the baby is older I'm wondering if they'll need the tray.)

  • Might want to ask on 0-6 and 6+ also, they may have some better insight =)

  • Will do. Thanks!
  • Personally, we have found that the try on the stroller is VERY helpful.
  • Watching my friends with kids, a tray is very important to us.  Our husbands all play softball and their kids always end up snacking at the fields and the tray helps a lot.  Finding a light-weight, smaller stroller with a tray has been such a PITA so far.

  • I didn't like any stroller that had the tray. Luckily someone bought be this thing that attaches to the handles so that I can put stuff in there and it lays between the handles. So I would pick the stroller you really want and worry about whether or need a tray or small back to hang on the back later. I put most of the stuff in the back pocket of the stroller anyway.?
  • DH really thought it was important so we got the Chicco Trevi which holds our carseat (Chicco Keyfit 30).  The nice part is the stroller is lightweight, easy to maneuver and the tray does come off for the early months when it's not needed.  Since we don't have a LO yet I don't know how great it will be (or not) but it does make sense to me that a tray is a good idea.

  • My son is nearly three years old and we have never had a snack tray on his strollers. We also haven't missed one. He has always tucked his sippy right by his side as well as a snack if he's having one.

If you find a stroller you love, I wouldn't skip it just because it doesn't have a tray.

  • My DD is 2 and we have used that tray to death. I wish the cup holders were a little bigger so that her sippy cup fit in there better. But, for the most part, it has been extremely useful.
