Trying to Get Pregnant

How long to hold it???

Ok I searched various terms but I can't seem to find my answer. How long should you hold your pee before POAS? I know FMU is best but how long do you hold it if you're obsessed and want to do it again?

Re: How long to hold it???

  • I've held it for 3 hours.

  • I *think* it's 4 hours. I'm not 100% sure though.
  • From your chart I'm guessing you're checking ovulation?  best time is between 12-8pm.  Try to reduce fluids after lunch, and hold for 2+ hours (if possible), and try to test the same time each day. GL!
  • Everyone is different but when you are after 10 dpo it will show up no matter what time of day. I was taking them at the doctor's without my FMU.

:Edited because I thought I saw that you were 6 DPO....not your 6th cycle. My bad.

  • My chart isn't accurate. I took a break from charting over the school year and just started back this week. So apparently when I put in my temps and the slight spotting that I've had only when wipping it took it as a new cycle. Last cycle started June 7th.

3-4 hours, basically as long as you can.

This is not true even a little bit. I was 13 DPO before I got a BFP with FMU. 14 or 15 before I got a BFP with evening pee.

  • I'm 16 dpo and no BFP or AF.  I've only used FMU yesterday morning and this morning on the tests I took.  Grrr.

No doubt. Kara, that is quite possibly one of the stupidest comments I have ever seen on here.

    And that is saying something.

I find that when I POAS it usually brings on AF. This time however, nothing. I did have a 40 day cycle when I first started charting so hopefully this won't happen to either of us.

I'm sorry but I'm confuzzled Huh? , are you POA HPT or an OPK? Your ticker says CD6... maybe it's wrong?

So basically I'm actually on CD 35 of a usual 27-29 day cycle.  I'm peeing on an HPT waiting for AF to show if she must so that I can get my charts together along with taking OPKs.

  • Hopefully that cleared it up for you Mrs.M.

BTW: I love your Weimaraner. I'm looking to get one when we move. How is he with your other dog?

  • For OPKs I test around 4pm and I hold it for 2+ hours and I don't have anything to drink for 2 hours.

It did, but you can go back in FF and put in your first day of AF so that it shows the correct CD.  Just click on that day on the calender (you will have to scroll back to June) and input light, medium, or heavy.

Maybel is great! They get along, for the most part, but Tyson is much more laid back than she is.  She has A LOT of energy and is very stubborn.  I would make sure you go through a breeder and you can meet the parents to see their temperments.

Weims are a difficult breed, we have been blessed with her! They are prone to separation anxiety, destructive behavior (when they are left alone), and running away (Maybel is very curious and very smart, she can almost jump over our 6 foot fence).  I might be sounding preachy (I'm sure I am) but I want to make sure you are happy with your dog.  GL!

  • I'm confused.
Fmu is best for pregnancy test.
Hold it for like 3-4 hours if opk.
Hope that answers whatever question you were asking :)

Thanks. I appreciate you being preachy. I have a very curious and playful Yorkie and I want to be sure to find a good sibling for him so your insight helps a lot.

I put in my previous cycle info on FF but for some reason it won't change. Maybe FF is trying to tell me something. I'm going to continue playing with it as I wait for DH who was supposed to be here an hour ago but pulled a muscle playing basketball. Angry

  • Ok I changed it. I actually had to change the start day because it was marking the day I started back recording info as the first day of a new cycle. Thanks for being patient.
