I would just use dish detergent and let it air dry. I sterilized it every other day I think. (I used one with DS but not this time) I never replaced it, I only used it for 3 months then I was able to wean him to not needing it. There should be instructions with them and that should tell you when to replace it.
I was using dish detergent as well. I didn't use it for very long as DS didn't do very well with breastfeeding. He's a squirmer and would make a mess of everything when he would pull the shield off every couple of minutes! I now pump a few bottles for him and supplement with formula.
I clean it with dish detergent also. I probably should sterilize it, I haven't yet, I've only been washing it...I haven't been using it long enough to have to replace it.
If you use one, I bought a special black dish to put it in between feedings. I kept loosing it and freaking out (especially when I only had one). That helped keep track of it!
I usually only rinse it with hot water after I use it. I steralize every couple of days. I have two, so I'm hoping I won't need to replace them at all.
I wash mine several times a day with super hot water and dish soap. I sterilized once, but afterwards, it stick, so I haven't done that again. I haven't ever heard anything aboout having to replace.
I wash mine with dish detergent every other time I use it, and I don't sterilize it. I have two, but I can't find one of them right now, so it's always in use.
I use dish soap as well and wash them every so often in the dishwasher on sanitize. I was losing them in between feedings so I started storing them in my bra (sports bra) and I never lose them anymore

I've been using them with my DD since day 2. I have a few stashed around the house and at various feeding places for convenience. Sterilizing them will begin to break down the silicon, so it's not suggested. I wash mine in hot water with dish soap and let air dry. But most of the time I use the same one for a few hours in the day without washing it.
Hilarious to the pp who stores it in her sports bra - genius!!
