When I go back to work (I'm a teacher) DD will be 8 months. Just wondering how much and what kind of foods you send to daycare? She actually goes to MIL so I'm wondering if I should just buy a bunch of food to keep at her house or actually pack DD a breakfast and lunch for while she's there. Suggestions? Are they eating snacks by then as well? Drinking juice? Thanks!
Re: 8-9 monthers
At that age, DS was having one solid meal at daycare for lunch. ?He had breakfast at home, also, and we were trying dinner at home. ?He wasn't really into solids consistently until about 10 months. ?He didn't need snacks at that point. ?It was more for getting him used to eating than for nutritional purposes, I think.
For his daycare meal, he would have a fruit or veggie and some rice cereal. ?The fruit or veggie was the Gerber First Foods. ?He liked almost all of them. ?We didn't give DS juice until a little later -- I think 10 months? ?We always took a good supply for the week on Monday, so you could try to do that for your MIL. ?
I think it's a good idea to introduce the sippy cup with milk or water at least by 8 months or so, if you haven't already, because it seemed to take DS a long time to figure it out. ?We wanted to be done with bottles by a year, and we are on track for that.
DD is 8.5 months and eats breakfast at daycare. She eats one of the containers of Gerber 2nd foods. I sometimes send a slice of cheese for an afternoon snack. She eats dinner at home with us. I am not sure when I will start sending lunch. She also takes 4 bottles at daycare too. I usually take food for the week and leave it in her cubby so I don't have to worry about it every day. HTH!
