Anyone know if we can eat beef jerky during pregnancy?

if it's out of the package, i wouldn't.  there are TONS AND TONS of preservatives in that stuff to make it stay good for long periods of time.  It's not even good for someone who isn't pregnant (though it's tasty!)

and yesterday josh burped and it smelled I asked him what he ate, (It was not jerky) and he said a meatball sub with bacon and extra onions and it smelled like jerky and it made me want some. How gross is that?!

if you've got money to spare (which i, unfortunately don't) you could buy a food dehydrator and make your own.  basically you put the steak in the machine and it sucks the juices out of it.  it doesn't last as long as reg. beef jerky though, since there aren't preservatives in it.

You may want to look at Whole Foods, or another natural foods store. They have some without all the nitrates and crap.

If you have a trader joe's they have nitrate free turkey jerkey, beef, etc.

I'm pretty sure jerky is fine to eat. I would eat it if I wanted some.

Considering it seems to be my one food aversion, no, I can't.  I can't even kiss my husband hours after he's eaten it.
