Question about your BFP charts

Hi ladies!  I am usually on GP, but I had a question for all of you ladies who have gotten your BFPs.  My question is specifically about your LP...

I am 7 DPO, and to this point, my temps looks exactly like they have every other month.  The fluctuations, the ups and downs are very, very similar to the last several months.  My LP is usually 14 days, so I'm about halfway through.  So my question is:  did your LP on your BFP chart look completely different from your other months, or did the temperatures only begin to increase as you got closer to AF?

There is a link to my chart in my siggie...I guess I'm just beginning to get frustrated because this LP is shaping up to look like every other LP I've had.  I'm sorry if this was confusing, but thanks for any advice.

GL to all of you!!

  • If I can figure out how to put my chart back in my siggy, I'll share. Smile

My previous cycle was similar -  no consistency on either one though.

My BFP chart (link in siggy) looked like any other chart for me. Ups & downs & ups, it just never went WAY down & AF never came!

My LP was normally 13 days, I got my BFP 10 dpo -- but I kept temping for a little while (as you can see)

  • I had a dip 7DPO, but I'd had a dip like that in other months that were BFN.  I didn't get a rise, either- in fact, my temp had fallen the day I got my BFP and I was sure I was out yet again.

Honestly, there's nothing out of the ordinary about my BFP chart- link in siggie.

  • I eventually stopped temping after my temps confirmed I had ovulated to avoid comparing each chart to my previous ones.

Once I knew I had o'd and we'd had good timing, I knew we had done what we could.  I got tired of driving myself crazy analyzing my temps after that.

  • what was "odd" about mine was that I had a dip at 6 and 7DPO.  i had cramping on those days, too.  GL!
  • My BFP chart was my first cycle charting, so I don't have any to compare to. But I got my BFP 12dpo and the temps stayed consistant the whole lp. No rise or fall at the end. I did start to get the triphasic look a few days after my BFP though.
  • My BFP chart was very similar to previous months, except on the day AF was due to arrive (14 DPO) my temp went up instead of way down like normal.  That's when I knew to test.
  • Hi there!

For the most part, my BFP chart looked the same as others, up until 12 DPO. You are definitely too early to start seeing any chart differences yet, becuase implantation hasn't likely even occurred yet.

My LP is similar to yours - always around 13 days. I had a very small dip at 8dpo of .2 degrees, but I'd had dips around that point in the past so I wasn't convinced that it was an implantation dip. But, I was suspicious and hoping!

The day of my BFP, 11 DPO, my temp was completely normal. However, the next day, 12 DPO, it went way up higher than I'd ever seen it - from an average of around 94.4 up uto 98.8. Because Day 12 was always the day I would drop, not rise, even if I hadn't tested on Day 11 I would have known something was up b/c of that temp.

However, the very next day, Day 13, my temp dropped way down to 98.3, lower than it had been since 5DPO. I freaked that it was a chemical pregnancy. Sure enough, the next day, it was back up to 98.8.

My point is, once you get your BFP, stop temping! I learned that your temps will go up and down - I never had a typical triphasic pattern at any point after getting my BFP, my temps ranged anywhere from 98.3-98.8 which is a huge variation! They did stay always above the coverline.

My first symptom, at around 8DPO, was extreme thirst. It was just a weird feeling - I was SO thirsty. I generally felt a little "off" and had a little constipation and was a little headachy - all very unusual for me. So be on the lookout for any sighs that seem very unusual and out of the blue for you.

    Good luck!!!!

  • Mine looked the same except it kept on going and going... my usual LP was 7-9 days, so I knew something was up.
  • I just got my BFP this morning, at 15DPO. LP has been 15 days. Up until today (when my temp stayed up, when I always have a drop today) my chart was so similar to my previous ones that when I searched the chart gallery on FF for charts like mine, one of my own was almost always the first result! Hang in there, and GL!

  • Ladies, thank you so, so much for your responses!  I really do try not to overanalyze, but I was starting to get frustrated when I saw that this chart is looking like every single other chart I have had.  I do appreciate the time you all took to respond...I enjoyed reading about all of your experiences!!

There is nothing special about my BFP chart. I even had a temp dip on the day I got my BFP - link in sig.
  • My temps on my BFP chart looked exactly the same as they did every other month, except for the implantation dip around 6 DPO.  also, my temps were exactly the same for 3 days, which has never happened, but that was right b4 i tested.  but they never were triphasic or anything like that.  All were well within normal for my LP.

  • The first 7 dpo of my BFP chart were almost identical to the first 7 dpo of my BFN chart the previous month.  It wasn't until 11 dpo (when I would usually have a drop/AF) that my BFP chart looked higher.  (Link in sig)

    Good luck!

  • I use the TCOYF software to chart, so I don't have mine on FF, but my BFP cycle was not anything out of the ordinary in terms of temps.  I didn't have a huge temp spike and I didn't have a triphasic pattern. I thought I had a short LP because I usually start spotting around 8-9 DPO, which gets progressively heavier leading up to AF. I knew something was up though because I wasn't having the usual spotting.
