So, we visited my sis in Chicago last week. She is renting one floor of this very large home in Lake Forest, which is apparently the richy rich suburb. It was SUPER nice. Anyways, the landlord lives above her and anytime we were outside with my kids (which was often...my sis's house is not child friendly) the landlord would come out and hang out with us, which was fine, he was nice enough. This is the crazy/cool part though....he invited me up to his level of the house (which I was like..huh....I'm not sure about this...but the guy had been sharing wine and cheese with us every night, and he was weird in a creepy way) and the guy has a museum in his house....several picasso's (one sketch he did and a piece of pottery), three klimt's, villon was his favorite (who I hadn't ever heard of, but apparently he is a master). I can't even remember who else was on his walls, but he said several times "I only collect the masters". He literally has 30 + pieces of the most gorgous art I've seen on his walls, plus everything else in his home was amazing.
I have never met anyone who has a single "original" work of art from someone famous, let alone SEVERAL!!!!!! I could have spent all day in his house looking at the walls.
Re: My sister's weird landlord....
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
I didn't read any of this.
You're back? Nice to see you!
I'm back, to annoy whoever thought they were responsible for getting rid of me!!!
And your dd is SOOOOO fa-reaking cute!!! I swear she grew up into a lady since the last sig picture I remember!!!!!
I for one am VERY happy you're back.
And you are so right about B. Such a beauty.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
eh, that list was so dumb and random!
and thank you both, you are too sweet!
Liam is 5!
My sister has a friend like that. They have a few picassos just hanging cockeyed on the walls, a sculpture in the garden by someone whose name escapes me at the moment. It was surreal. I kept thinking they should at least be dusted & hanging straight. The wife owns an art gallery so I guess to her it's no big deal, but jeebus.
Also in $$ burbs of Chicago, go figure LOL
So how was everything ????
