Trey had his first peds appt since we left the hospital. They said he is in the 75th percent for his height and weight and the 60th percent for his head circum. So, that is all great news. He is also doing well on his milestone. Lifting his head, moving his arms and legs and all that so YEAH!!
The only gripe I have is about the dumb nurse who gave him the oral rotovirus. 1st she was giving it to him way to fast and on his back..so..he started to choke then he bradied and she didn't even know what to do about it. I took him from her flipped him on his side and started patting him on his back, she leaves the room ( OMG, what nurse leave the room ) but in her defense she obvously was freaked out and went to get help..by the time the other nurse came in he was just fine. The more experienced nurse has a preemie also and explained to her what she did wrong and how not to do it again. I told her that she can no longer be a nurse for my son, that I was sorry if it sounded me but the last thing I need right now is someone that isn't familar with preemies.. Luckily she totally understood and wasn't upset.
So, all in all a good day. The doctor told us to get out and about because once RSV season starts that we are on lock down. That means we took our first trip out in the world..to the mall..and (hehe) bought more baby clothes ( yeah !!! ) Trey slept the whole time and it was nice when people gazed into the stoller and said 'oh, you have a little one' how old is he (again, I have to laugh haha) I decided that to tell them he is only a couple of weeks old, so that they would complement me on how great I look ( hehe)
Re: Great 1st peds appt!! and our first outting!!
Katie: 1/16/08 2lbs. 15oz.
Abby & Emily: 12/31/10 6lbs. 2oz. & 5lbs. 7oz.
HAHA!! I did this too! Jacob was in the hospital for 4 months and I was already -9 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight when we came home (probably stress related and the fact that I was pumping every 3 hours and not eating enough).
Jacob 3.23.08 * Grace 7.22.09 * Eli 7.26.11 * Annabelle 1.18.14
Love it!!! Glad to know I am not the only one, now I don't feel so guilty LOL
You girls are so lucky! I still look like I had a baby a couple weeks ago! I just can't seem to get rid of this pouch of baby fat on my tummy.
SO glad to hear that Trey's first appt went so well! That sucks about the nurse- I'm pretty sure that DD's old pedi had very little to no experience with preemies. I felt like I knew more about preemies from this board than she did period! Luckily I switched to a better office and a much better pedi.
