Anyone hypoglycemic?

I was talking to my OB about my 1 hour glcose test and apparently my number was extremely low- like in the 50's. He said I may want to follow up with my primary about it. I was reading a little online and I certainly feel normal most of the time.....is it something to be concerned with? Or not a big deal?

Re: Anyone hypoglycemic?

  • I had it when I was in my 20's and the primary told me to eat smaller meals more frequently.  It seemed to work because I don't really have the symptoms now.
  • the first time i had an issue with it i damn near passed out.  now i can feel an episode coming and eat to get back on track.  i feel it in my knees first - they shake, then my body, then i sweat, then finally i feel like everyone is fuzzy....if ig et there i pass out.  i usually can check it at the knee stage with lots of food. :)

  • I was borderline at one point and my doctor didn't act like it was a big deal, but in the 50s after the glucose drink does sound pretty low.  It wouldn't hurt to have it checked out but if it's not affecting you you're probably okay.
