I saw in the post down below that you have to go to the perinatal center too..I have to go there to get my big us done...I am super nervous about the u/s I just want to make sure everything is fine....what did the perinatal doctor say? Did the tech give you any idea or did you have to wait for the doctor?
Re: Cloud...
Butting in-
I had to go to a Perinatal Center in Doylestown. This was for my sequential screening. The Tech wasn't supposed to tell me anything, however she was really nice and told us lots of information. My husband happens to teach her kid though, so not sure that had anything to do with her "non sealed lips". (We didnt know her before the U/S) I have to go back there for my "big ultrasound" in two weeks. So excited!
BTW- The perinatal doctor didnt even come in for my sequential. She took him pictures and then she came back and said he would review them and agreed with her numbers. I never met the doctor.
I was going to opt out of the Scan, but thought, I can't wait until week 20 to see the baby again!
The nurse told us everything she was doing as she did it. (There is the heart beating, your baby is measuring the right size, etc., etc.)
The doctor pretty much just came in and said a few of the same things the nurse did and tried to relieve my nerves about the 'spotting' that I had. (Remember that incident??)
We opted out of the NT scan too. This will be our first u/s since that scare we had at 8 weeks. If we would not have had that u/s, this would be our first one. That is crazy to me!
I am nervous for mine as well. Especially since the receptionist at my doctor's office checked off two diagnostic codes on the back of my slip for the u/s and then told me not to worry about those codes, they are just fancy wording. Um...what????
Are you afraid of seeing something or not seeing something on the u/s that would give away the sex of your baby?
Are you delivering at Doylestown?
Oh I am scared of something being wrong with the baby..if we stumble upon the sex oh well...finding out the sex isn't what is important about this u/s.
My doc said the same thing on the script for the u/s the code said something like suspected fetal abnormality..she was like you are fine this is just the code we have to use for the anatomy screen...she has said some women have come back in tears after seeing that..
It is just stressful I feel like this pregnancy has been easy and I am so thankful for that..I am just afraid I am walking in blind into this u/s and I am not comfortable with it.
I sorta feel like the montly ob appoimnets are worthless..I mean they check for the hb which I know is a good thing, but other than that htys just weigh you and take your blood pressure...they really can't tell you much about how your baby is developing you know?
DH went with me on Monday (we had to drive separate he was at work) He was so annoyed because the appointment lasted 5 minutes. He said, all he did was listen to a heartbeat and ask if you had questions (I didnt really have more than 1)
I reminded him that yes, although it was a 2 minute appointment if we had found out bad news I'd want him there and he'd want to be there.
But secretly I agreed to his annoyance.
I grew up in Perkasie so that is why I asked about Doylestown. So actually you must live some what close to Perkasie if you are delivering at Grandview.
Girl, seriously you must be in my head!
You have given me a sense of relief though because that is the code they checked off for me too. They actually also checked off 'high risk pregnancy' too.
My 16 week appointment, the doctor actually seemed annoyed that I asked her a few questions. I wasn't happy with that at all. I feel clueless!
