Introducing myself :)

Hello Ladies,

I wanted to introduce myself... I found out last week we were having twins! Today was my 2nd u/s and we just saw the little heart beats! I can't believe there are two little ones. It is sooooo amazing!

My RE said my EDD is March 1st... he also said I am measuring around 6 1/2 weeks.

I feel so happy right now! Sooooo happy!!! But I am also terrified... how did you feel when you found out you were having more than one lil' baby? :)

Re: Introducing myself :)

  • Congrats!  I just had my second u/s today and I found out I am having indentical twins.  I think my EDD is March 1st as well.

We were in shock when we found out this morning, and I think we still are!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • Congrats! H&H 9 months!

When we found out I just about died...we'll have 3 kinds under 2. It takes time to sink in that your having more than one. Now I am so excited and I feel special because not everyone gets this experience.

  • Congrats and welcome!

The emotional rollarcoaster DH and I went on when we found out is interesting.  We went from terrified, to accepting, to thrilled.

  • Congratulations on your twin pregnancy!!

We found out at our first u/s at ten weeks. We all just started laughing so load, and saying "we knew it"! "We knew it!" Actually we only suspected it due to my early symptoms, especially the severe migraines! Ours were spontaneous, and we didn't have any reason to believe I was pregnant with twins except a few twins in the families (not all in my generation), there are fraternal and identical. Ours are identical, we enjoy every minute with them, they are so precious.

  • welcome & congrats!!

  • Congratulations!!! When we found out I wasn't too surprised...I just had a feeling that we would end up with twins...no idea why though they do run in the family, but there aren't that many sets...anyways...DH about fell off his chair when I told him...and we definetly went through a lot of emotions like the other poster said...but now that they are here I couldn't imagine not having twins!
  • Congrats!! My DH and I were first terrified thinking of all the additional risks and possible complications. He then moved to amused and acceptance. I went into anxiety mode for the first full week. I then got used to the idea and am starting to get excited. Don't get me wrong, I love my babies, but the thought of carrying and raising two overwhelmed me.
  • Congrats & Welcome

You will go through every emotion in the book and over and over again.  It is totally normal and feel free to ask tons of questions and/or just vent.

  • congrats!!!! My twins are from clomid/IUI, too (so is my DS1).  I remember all too well the excitement and terror of those first weeks after we found out we were having two :)  I'm still a bit freaked out about finances, but know it will work out somehow. (ie- we will be broke and can't spend money, lol)

get Dr. Luke's book on being pg with twins - it's the bible for a healthy twin pregnancy.  I followed the principles in the book and made it to 38w!

this board is great- the women are very helpful. Welcome!

  • Congrats and welcome!  When we found out we were having twins, to call it a shock would be an understatement.  In all honesty, I was disappointed.  We had planned that we would have #2 in the house we're currently in (selling next week for a bigger place) and we didn't want #3 for 6+ years.  I had everything pictured in my head so perfectly and a lot of those images disappeared.  Now I'm thrilled about it, but I really wasn't at first.

One major thing I worry about is the novelty of "twins" vs. my DS.  I worry that everyone will want to see "the twins" at family functions and that he'll be essentially pushed aside (of course by others than DH and I).

  • congrats and welcome!

  • Welcome and congrats on this wonderful news!

My husband and I were thrilled after finding out we were having twins, although we thought there was only one until my ultrasound at 18 weeks so it was a GREAT suprise, luckily we hadn't ordered the furniture we were planning to order the week before!  It was a bit overwhelming and I'm still getting use to the idea that we're going to have two babies, but nonetheless we're thrilled and excited to experience this new step in our lives with our first LO's :)

  • Thank you all so much for the warm welcome :)

It's hard to bump at work, so hopefully I won't be too tired in the evenings.

I hope to get to know all of you... :)
