Dance clinic = FAIL

I took Nora to a dance clinic tonight for Relay for Life.  It was one of the rural FD's main fund raiser for the Relay, and the girls are supposed to perform on Friday at the event.  DH's cousin was one of the leaders, so that helped some.  DD wouldn't have gone out on the dance floor at all had she not been there.  She stood out there for about half of the time and did a couple of dance moves, but then was done.  She wanted me to go out there with her.  I asked her if she wanted to dance on Friday and she said she did.  I hope she at least goes out on the field with the other girls...DH's whole crew is coming over on the fire truck so that he can watch her.  I'm a bit disappointed, but trying not to be and to remember that she isn't even 3 yet.  She loves to dance and is usually in the middle of any wedding dance we go to. Re: Dance clinic = FAIL

  • Ya know, my dd did this for her school talent show.  The dress rehearsal, she looked like she was going to burst into tears and stood there.  Ppl were so surprised because dd is very outgoing and not shy in the least.  But there she stood with her eyes full with tears.  The night of the actual show I felt like sick to my stomach.  She's only 3 and I didn't care what she did up there but I didn't want anyone else saying anything to her.  Well that night, total switch and she was singing and dancing.  The principal joked that maybe dd needed a full audience to perform.  So you might be surprised. BTW she does look adorable there in that pic.
  • i think at your daughter's age, half the fun of the show is just watching them stand there and sort of do/not do what they are supposed to.  At matt's christmas concert the fun of watching his class perform was watching 8 kids do, at times, 8 different things, and at any given time there was one or two not doing a thing at all and one or two singing like a champion and doing all the right hand movements (never matt :)   so, the fun for your dh and coworkers could just being seeing your dd standing sweetly like she is in pip.  as long as she wasn't afraid or crying at the practice, i'd just have fun with it.

  • I'm crossing my fingers that she performs on Friday. And, I think it's adorable that DH's crew is coming.

She is beautiful in the picture!
