registering at Target

I know I am full of questions today!

Does anyone know if Target does a completion coupon?  I thought they did something with my wedding registry but I cannot remember.  They don't sit down and explain things nicely like BRU did... they just threw a bag and a scanner at me.  If they don't do a completion coupon then I might "un-register" there!

Re: registering at Target

  • They do a completion coupon, but from what my SIL said they make it incredibly difficult to use. She had a hell of a time with Target, including returns, exchanges, and duplicate purchases off the registry, and said she won't register there again.

  • They have a completion coupon.  Honestly, I'd keep your Target registry because it seems like people (especially people my parents age) prefer to shop there over BRU.  There are a few items that I am double registered for that are cheaper at Target.

---A lot of people complain about having trouble returning things at Target, but I haven't experienced this.  I have done returns at two different Targets in town and one of the items was not on my registry nor did I have a gift receipt for it.  I did have some issues with duplicates, but I believe that is because two people were shopping at the same time at different Targets.

  • I think you get a 10% off coupon to complete the registry.  What I like about Target's registry is that the scanners are SO much easier to use than BRU's and the website is easier to use, too.

  • I got a 10% off coupon in the mail about a week ago. (Baby is due 8/15.)

Also....about returns....I had no problem returning some duplicates and unwanted items after my shower.

  • I don't think they tell people this a lot, but you can return up 75 dollars worth of items a year w/o a reciept and you can also print off your registry purchase history and some duplicate items will be on there. They will accept that as a receipt at my store. And I agree that most people like to shop at Target.

  • Huh, maybe it's just the Target my SIL uses? :o)

  • My registry was at Target and I didn't have any issues. Be sure you save receipts and gift receipts, that will make returns a lot easier. You can also print a registry purchase history as a receipt.

You do get a completion coupon. I got mine in the mail at 35wks. It is for 10% off, but it is only good for one day - in store or online. So plan ahead to make a big trip and buy everything at once.
