After cleaning all my pieces 3-4x a day for the last 5.5 mos, I'm ready to stick a hot poker in my eye. I cannot deal with cleaning these bits and pieces anymore!
If I rinse them with water, and then use the microwave steam bag between each pump session at work, will that suffice for cleaning until I get home and can give them a good scrub down?
Please say yes!
Re: medela pump part question
I say yes, since BM is good at room temp for what...10 hours, some people don't even wash between pumping sessions, just put them in the fridge.
I have 3 sets of parts and would just use a clean set for each pumping session - then clean them all at night. I also pumped in my car, so cleaning wasn't an option
I don't think you even have to do that much. I pumped for around 8 months, and all I ever did between sessions is rinse everything.........I didn't even take it apart, I just let water run through the breastshield and through all the parts.
I washed everything by hand at night.
Yes!
In fact, you don't even have to rinse them or steam them between sessions. I just put the parts in my pump bag without rinsing or steaming after each session at work, and then clean them all thoroughly each night.
This is what I do as well. Just keep them cool between pumpings and wash well at night and you're fine!
I used these....

I decided to buy 2 shields for since I pump twice at work.
