Dallas-Fort Worth Babies

You know what would be a really mean PIP?

Go over to 1st tri and post a pic of yourself a few days post partum. I was so swollen that the majority of my maternity pants would not fit.

I was never warned that was even a possibility.

  • I kind of wish I had taken a photo of my horrible jello c-section belly postpartum. That would be enough to scare the baby fever out of anybody! It still has that semi-jello-jiggle to it, but OMGoodness, I was horrified when I saw my body postpartum. FAR worse then my huge pregnant belly. I didn't swell or anything, I deflated and had a hanging jiggly belly, blechhhhh!!! SO nasty!
  • No to Totty and bnljane.

You have to A. look bad in the picture and B. show a full length body shot.

I doubt such a picture exists.

  • Nobody warned me either that my ankles AFTER birth could grow to some gigantic size. I mean seriously I was completely grossed out.

  • Yeah I don't have the picture either...

If I had a pic of my belly PP, or showing the crazy swelling,  I would have burnt it to a crisp.

  • I have some immediately afterward, but nothing for a couple of days after that.  I was hiding a lot, hee.  ;)
  • I could soo post a pic of her being cut out of my stomach. That would freak anyone out.  My husband took pictures of the entire process.  Kind of cool for me to see but oogy for anyone else.

  • This is where that handy dandy baby came into play. She was my belly decoy for several weeks, so there are no horrid flab shots!

I get it. If I can't have a VBAC I want the curtain lowered. I hate that I didn't get to see DD as/right after she was born.

DH also got it all on camera/video. Our point and shoot does videos too. It is cool to look at. It was great watching the video until I started having major complications and passed out on the operating table. The video stopped there because DH was horrified I wasn't going to make it.

OMG how scary!  MY DH would have sh*t his pants.  He freaks on stuff like that.  So glad you came through okay!

I also hid for at least 4 months from any camera anywhere.  And no one was allowed to photograph me for fear of being poked in the eye.  :)

  • Bah!!! Lets hold off on doing that for another few weeks, pretty please! Big Smile I freak out a little more each day about the whole idea of L&D as I start to approach my due date.

And since the few pics y'all posted show you looking so cute and blissful after your deliveries, I would feel even worse when I actually look like a fat, bloated cow.

The sad thing is, I worked in OB and the OR when I was in the military and I saw plenty of deliveries, and I always thought they were so amazing. But now that it is about to happen to me, I am not thinking they are all that great. I really like the idea my 6 year old cousin told me that the nice dark line that has appeared on my belly is the zipper, and all I have to do is unzip and pull the baby out!

  • I don't know who was in charge of pictures, but everyone somehow got tons of shots of me high as a kite, ashen faced and completely swollen.?

    Here's a couple:

Micah calls this one "The Dead Zone" I really should destroy this photograph... This is what morphine does to me :)?

  • I was so swollen my maternity pants that I wore in at 38 weeks pregnant didn't fit. I had to wear my DH's sweatpants home. Nobody ever even told me this was a possibility either. I took it upon myself to inform all of my friends who were pregnant at the time lol!
